Hours: 2/3 days per week (flexible), 12-7pm and event hours

Want to work in events? Self-motivated, organised and friendly? Excited about design, craft, products?

Just Got Made is looking for a dedicated event intern to join us in planning and delivering a range of creative and inspiring events.

Internship Outline

As our event intern, you will be working on several different events coming up for Just Got Made, including an exhibition, talks and field trips. During your internship you will work on all stages of the event programme including project planning and organisation, promotion, set up and delivering the event on the day.

Behind the scenes you will be involved in organising schedules, creating running orders and contact lists, working with communications on promotional activities and liaising with suppliers, partners and guest speakers. You will also be involved with helping to run events on the day. from set up to ticket sales, as part of a larger team. A willingness to be involved in many different tasks is crucial, whether glamorous or not!

You will be working as part of a small team, under the direction of founder Helen Kemp.

Who We Are Looking For

We require someone who is proactive, organised and speedy, who carries themselves with a big smile (even when up against it!). You will need a detail orientated brain, to be good at planning, communicating and meeting deadlines. As the face of Just Got Made at our events, we will expect you to be approachable and confident, with excellent service skills.

Your attitude and enthusiasm are more important than past experience.

Essential requirements

Excellent social skills and confidence in speaking with others, especially members of our directory, the public and those we have close associations with
Excellent time management and organisational skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, whilst meeting tight deadlines

Excellent written and spoken communication skills including telephone

Competence with IT programmes including excel

Interest and enthusiasm about working in the area of design, craft and makers
Willingness to be ‘hands on’ and involved in transporting and setting up stands

Self-motivated

Reliable

Desirable

Design background and or qualifications in the arts

Experience of working events

Experience of giving high levels of customer service

Experience of using Twitter, Instagram, Buffer and Hootsuite

Key Dates

You must be available to join us ton the following dates:

New Designers: Wednesday 29th June – Saturday 2nd July

UAL Graduate Week: 12th July

Hours and Pay

This is a paid internship at the rate of £30 per day. Work during event hours will be considered extra to this, at a rate of pay negotiated during interview in line with experience.

This internship is for six weeks, with a trial period for the first fortnight.
