Just Got Made • 01 Feb 2016

Just_Got_Made-Metro-ArticleIf you happened to pick up a copy of the Metro Newspaper recently, you may well have seen Just Got Made founder and director Helen Kemp interviewed for the ‘Behind the Idea’ section, which aims to “pioneer people and ideas in the creative industries”.

We’re excited to report that we had a fantastic response from it with lots of new and familiar faces and feedback from all corners of the creative community. So to those of you who sent congratulations or enquiries or who just read and enjoyed the interview- we would like to say a big thank you!

For those of you who missed out, some highlights included when Helen explained the ideas and principles behind JGM and gave advice to those who are starting off in the creative field. One of the main points stressed throughout, was that the way in which businesses and manufacturers currently operate is changing with an increasing number of small creative enterprises staking their place in the market. Helen explained that “it’s no longer just about large factories and global outsourcing” with the focus now shifting to the “…talented, contemporary craftspeople, workshops and manufacturers who can deliver work in smaller more, personal batches…”.

Helen went on to discuss what is coming up for JGM moving into the New Year – with lots to look forward to. The directory will continue to grow and improvements will include the launch of a new sourcing service, which aims to help you set up your own project using JGM expertise. Lastly, we were reminded that the Just Got Made Weekender is just around the corner (27-28 February) with tickets now on sale.
